Fouling and Cleaning in Food Processing 2025

Under the motto “Food Safety and Net Zero Emission”, everything from March 25 to 27, 2025, at the Penck Hotel in Dresden will revolve around the question of how to ensure hygienic, resilient cleaning processes and reduce fouling on surfaces.

The conference series “Fouling and Cleaning in Food Processing (FCFP)” brings together participants from around the world involved in hygienic production and research, thanks to its interdisciplinary nature, to exchange new findings and develop new approaches to solving this challenge. The Fraunhofer IVV Dresden - a FRei member - is the main organizer of this conference.

The conference topics include:

  • Digitalization and application of AI in the monitoring and control of fouling and cleaning processes
  • Sustainability and Resilience in food production
  • Cleaning and disinfection procedures
  • Fouling and cleaning of membranes and heat transfer systems
  • Additive manufacturing of product-contacting surfaces
  • Surfaces and surface coatings
  • Monitoring and analysis of fouling and cleaning processes
  • Challenges for the circular economy in hygienic production

Looking forward to an exciting interdisciplinary lecture program, stimulating discussions, poster sessions, awards, and - as a special highlight - the opportunity to gain insights behind the scenes of regional companies, such as Sachsenmilch Leppersdorf GmbH, the largest and one of the most modern dairy processing plants in Europe, through industry tours.

The 2025 conference will be held in cooperation with TU Dresden and will continue the series of meetings that began in Lund, Sweden, in 1981.

Come to Dresden and take the opportunity to exchange ideas about your research, network with like-minded individuals, and contribute to the promoting food safety and sustainability!
